Year 9 students supporting our community

Year 9 students at Berwick campus have been immersing themselves in community service projects in the Casey region as part of their experiential program this term.

They been busy helping maintain the community garden at the Pakenham Living Learning Centre, preparing minestrone soup for the Vinnies Soup Van and working at the United African Farm in Cardinia, an initiative formed and run by members of African descent who plant and grow crops for local food agencies and residents in the area.

Whilst learning about food security, cultural understanding and waste management, the program provides a wonderful opportunity for the Year 9s to work with and understand perspectives of those who dedicate their time to support others in our community.
