Leadership

Strong leadership is important for a healthy school culture. Meet our Executive Principal, Campus Principals and College captains.

Executive Principal

Stephen McGinley brings an enormous wealth of experience to the role of Executive Principal.

From Physics and Mathematics teacher to football and athletics coach, Head of IT, Head of Science and then as a leader in school-based innovation and teaching and learning design, Steve has worked across the whole gamut of school operations.

He joined Beaconhills in 2009 and has served as Deputy Headmaster and Head of Education, playing a key leadership and support role across all aspects of the College.

Steve passionately believes in the importance of a broad and meaningful education. He is committed to supporting teachers to design and deliver the learning that matters each student’s life – and bring lasting change.

Steve is honoured to lead Beaconhills College into the next exciting chapter of its future.

Campus Principals

Sarah Rudiger

Sarah Rudiger

Pakenham Campus Principal

Sarah is a highly respected educator who has held a number of leadership positions, including Head of House, Head of Students and Deputy Head of Senior School.

Whether it’s being part of students’ diverse academic life or donning the tracksuit as an assistant coach for the netball team, Sarah takes a very hands-on approach to her role.

She loves the College’s forward-thinking approach, ensuring that students gain the skills they need the most for their future.

Sam Watson

Sam Watson

Berwick Campus Principal

Sam joined the College in 2008 as a graduate teacher and among his various leadership roles, led the sports department and Senior School. He sees his role as guiding the ‘whole student’, not just academically, but caring for their wellbeing and helping prepare them for the world beyond secondary education.

He believes it is important to encourage students to recognise their own potential. Sam understands that every student goes through his or her own unique learning experience.

College captains

We have four senior captains at each campus. Leadership at Beaconhills is focused on service. All students have the opportunity to develop their leadership skills through classroom activities, Beacon Explorers camps and experiences and the Co-Curricular Program.
