Early Years

Little Beacons Learning centres at our Pakenham and Berwick campuses specialise in early learning, from six months to six years of age.

Little Beacons

Little Beacons Learning centres at Pakenham and Berwick excel in the care and education of children aged six months to five years.

Little Beacons sets an impressive benchmark in Early Years education. Both Pakenham and Berwick centres offer a high-quality, experience-based curriculum personalised to every child’s strength and learning style.

Our educational team partners with families to support each child’s development. Learning is fostered through natural curiosity and interests and children are involved in decision-making.  We focus on creating an environment of respect and trust, so children feel safe and secure.

Early Explorers

The 4/5 year old Discovery Program is a government-recognised kindergarten program. As part of the program, children join the Early Explorers (bush kinder) spend three hours of uninterrupted play on College grounds, using what nature has provided as learning materials. The program is based on the ‘forest preschool’ approach, originally established over 50 years ago in Scandinavia and now an international movement.

In 2016, Little Beacons introduced a pre-schooler camp – involving parents – believed to be an Australian first.  The Jungai program is based around Indigenous learning and includes activities such as a cultural session and nature trail walk. It has been hugely successful.
