Senior School Chemistry students celebrated International Women’s Day this morning by attending the 2022 Women in STEM Morning Tea at Casey Tech School.

The group heard from some inspiring speakers and gained deeper insight into the pathways and wonderful career opportunities that are available to women in STEM.

Jackie Bondell, an Education and Public Outreach Coordinator for two ARC Centres of Excellence shared her story and her involvement with some fascinating projects, including the building of a laboratory located 1km underground for the research of dark matter in space.

The girls had a lot of fun with their activity, which was to program drones to capture images of letters located around the room to spell out words.
