Year 4 Pakenham Campus students warmly welcomed a recent visit from special guests Mayor Jack Kowarzik – Cardinia Shire (Class of 2009 Pakenham Campus) and Emma Vulin MP.
The students delved into the fascinating world of politics, driven by their research topic: ‘In a democracy, people have the power to influence change.’
They gained valuable insights into how issues are identified, addressed, and overcome within our community and state, exploring the processes through which individuals can wield their influence in a democracy.
The session sparked some thought-provoking discussions, questions, and ideas. One curious student pondered what it would be like to step into the shoes of a politician. Mayor Kowarzik and Emma Vulin offered interesting glimpses into their lives and roles and shared the rewards and challenges of serving the public and implementing meaningful change.
