This term, our Year 9 students are embarking on their seven-night Summit to School (S2S) Outdoor Experience.
Now in its second year, the one-week program begins at the summit of Mount Baw Baw and winds its way back with a final leg – a train ride back to school.
Students get to explore some of Victoria’s most stunning landscapes. Bushwalking across the Baw Baw plateau, biking historic trails, camping, taking part in Indigenous learning sessions and rafting the Thomson River.
They’re also cooking the potatoes they planted on campus during last year’s Headstart Program, putting their paddock-to-plate and sustainability learning into practice. Upon returning, they’re calculating their individual carbon footprint from the camp’s transport and offsetting it through tree planting.
After months of preparation for this expedition, students are returning with new skills, insights and perspectives.
