Some incredible artworks from Year 4 students at Pakenham Campus are on display at Pakenham Station as part of the Level Crossing Removal Project. Through their drawings, students imagined what could be done with the space that will be created underneath the new rail bridge. Ideas included building a frog pond, sleep shelter pods, a skatepark, a café, and an arcade.
‘’Using a real-life example of a project happening in the community made it meaningful to the students. They had a lot of fun collaborating to create the imagery and make the areas inclusive and accessible for all,’’ said Year 4 teacher Nicola Grierson.
The 2.5km rail bridge will create more than six MCGs worth of open space under the rail line when it’s completed in 2024.
