Year 12s visit Alpine National Park

Berwick Campus Year 12 Outdoor and Environmental studies students braved the cold last week on their 5-day camp at the beautiful Alpine National Park, Mt Buller and Mt Stirling.

The group initially enjoyed some downhill skiing at Mt Buller and attended an environmental lecture with well-known local farmer Bruce McCormack where they learned about feral species in the area.

Later, they set off for their two-night snow camp travelling 8kms uphill cross-country to get to Bluff Hut at the base of Mt Stirling.

Students are fully self-sufficient with their camping gear, food and supplies during this outdoor experience. It is the pinnacle of the OES subject, preparing them for their final exams.
