Beaconhills dance scholar Ruby Thornton-Mackay is leaping for joy after learning she was accepted into the prestigious West Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA) for 2023.

Ruby, who is in Year 12 at the Berwick Campus, was only one of about 20 students to earn a place in the academy’s Bachelor of Arts (Dance). Ruby is very excited and is looking forward to the opportunities and growth she will experience over in Perth. Ruby was a recipient earlier this year of a Top Class award for dance, part of the VCE Season of Excellence.
