New Middle School centres at Pakenham

Works have started on a spacious new $9.5m Years 7 and 8 centre at the Pakenham Campus, with a completion date of mid-2023.

The stand-alone centre is almost double the size of the Year 9 building and includes 12 classrooms, study and breakout rooms, storerooms, amenities, staff rooms and a large multi-purpose area. The addition of 160kW solar system to the building will bring the College’s combined solar systems up to a massive 1MW.

Business Manager David Young said the current Middle School buildings were part of the original campus and no longer met the needs of a contemporary curriculum.

The Years 7 and 8 project will be followed in 2023 by another new dedicated centre at Pakenham, this time for the Year 5s and 6s. This centre will involve the reconfiguration and extension of the existing Year 8 classrooms.
