Terry Prendergast (Class of 2023) is making waves in the world of surf rescue, winning a gold medal in the recent Sharkskin Australian Inflatable Rescue Boat (IRB) Championships, NSW.
Terry and his sister Sarah (Class of 2022) both represented the Cape Patterson Surf Lifesaving Club. Their parents, Jim and Wendy Prendergast, are also keen club members and teach at Beaconhills College’s Pakenham Campus.
Terry and his 14-member team competed in the Under 23 Male Teams Rescue event. He was delighted with the team’s performance, describing it as “flawless”. Credit to dad Jim Prendergast for these spectacular action shots!
Inflatable rescue boat racing helps lifesavers develop the skills needed for real-life rescue situations.
