Jumping for heart health

Beaconhills College continues to proudly support the Heart Foundation’s ‘Jump Rope for Heart’ Program, a primary school skipping challenge that encourages children to have a positive attitude towards exercise, healthy eating and heart health, while raising vital funds to fight heart disease.

The Berwick Campus Junior School held its first Jump Rope for Heart ‘Jump Off Day’ today, and the giant Happy Heart mascot was there to cheer them on.

The students’ goal was to raise $9,600 for the cause and towards the end of the day they were looking at a running tally of $12,848.

The College has been a long-time participant in Jump Rope for Heart, with Pakenham Campus being involved since the program was established in 1983.

Berwick Campus Health and Physical Education teacher Janelle Alsop said students had enthusiastically participated in the event, with Prep student Will, and Year 3 student Ocklan being the leading fundraisers, each raising over $1000.
