International students learn beach safety

Beaconhills College international students recently hit the sand at Aspendale beach for a beach safety day with Life Saving Victoria’s diversity and inclusion team, and what a day it was.

The beautiful weather made it the perfect setting to learn essential beach safety skills, from spotting dangers in the water to using life jackets, rescue techniques and mastering nipper boards.

The students enjoyed some fun on the sand with beach soccer, volleyball, and flag races, making the most of their time by the water. For some, it was their first-ever dip in the ocean, making it an unforgettable experience.

Local Labor MP for Mordialloc, Tim Richardson, also stopped by for a quick chat, sharing that he grew up in Berwick and that his wife attended Beaconhills Pakenham.

The program is a great way to introduce our international students to beach safety while helping them feel more confident enjoying our beautiful beaches.
