Equestrian team at state championships

The Beaconhills College equestrian team recently competed at Equestrian Victoria’s Interschool State Championships held at Werribee Park Equestrian Centre, the biggest event on the team’s competition calendar.

Overcoming challenging weather conditions, the team did an amazing job placing 16th out of 158 schools, with each rider producing some great results overall:

Harri Hanby placed 10th in Primary (60cm) show jumping and 21st in his Combined Training competition, our newest team member Saffron Allday placed 10th in Intermediate (80cm) Show Jumping, Scarlett Ramsay placed 34th in Intermediate (90cm) Show Jumping, Jade Barrett placed 3rd in the Dressage of her Combined Training competition and team captain and Year 12 student, Keeley Sutton came 4th in the Prix St George Dressage and was awarded Advanced Dressage Champion. Keeley will be heading off to Nationals in November this year.

College Equestrian Director Jade Pearson said she was very proud of how the team managed their horses and that the support from families made the event even more special.

‘There were several comments from other schools, families and organisers about our teams’ sportsmanship, kindness, teamwork and commitment’, she said.
