Three of the College’s chess teams have qualified to play in the Interschool Chess Online National Finals in November after some outstanding results in the State Finals last week.
From both campuses, 20 students played nine games throughout the day where they proved their skills and sportsmanship. Our Open Secondary team finished third, with Morgan Stone (Year 11) placing ninth out of 69 competitors. Our Middle Years team finished fourth after a very close-tie break, with Avie Singla (Year 7) finishing fifth overall. Our Primary Years team also finished fourth, with James Fitzsimmons (Year 6) and JingJing Tan (Year 5) winning five out of their nine games to finish 10th and 11th.
Well done to our talented chess players, and good luck in the National Finals!
