Celebrating 35 years

Last week, the College was delighted to welcome guests from Ibaraki Christian High School as we celebrated an incredible milestone – 35 years of our sister-school partnership.

Since the relationship began in 1991, students from both schools have opened their homes and school communities to visiting students or travelled abroad to experience a new culture with host families.

By learning alongside one another and experiencing life in a different country, students build confidence, develop their communication skills and form meaningful cross-cultural connections that can last a lifetime.

Our 35-year anniversary celebration was a fitting tribute to this enduring friendship. The event began with a special chapel service, followed by a 友好 (Friendship) Evening featuring reflections and acknowledgements from former staff and students. Among those in attendance were the organisers of the College’s very first trip to Japan.

The evening featured special performances, the exchange of commemorative gifts and the chance to celebrate the lasting impact of a remarkable 35-year journey.
