Battle of the Super Bands a smash hit

This year’s Battle of the Super Bands was another huge success, with the College’s fastest-growing student-inspired community event attracting record participation and support.

Last Friday night, 43 student performers from both campuses and 17 staff performers took to the stage as part of nine bands, entertaining a packed audience with an incredible range of musical talent.

The food trucks were also a huge hit this year, as were the raffle prizes and cupcakes, which together raised funds for the College’s Beacon of Hope Foundation.

We congratulate the VCE Class Band (The Band With No Name) on taking out first place, with the Middle School Rock Band finishing second and staff band Art Dooties securing third place. The second half of the evening saw the much-anticipated Battle of the Super Bands showdown between staff and students, with the students claiming victory for the second year in a row! A big thank you to our judges, alumni Sophia D’Agostino (Class of 2025) and Richard de Silva (Class of 1991), as well as special guest Jason Fremder. And thank you to our student and staff performers, tech, stage and support crews, and everyone who contributed behind the scenes to make this event possible.
