Beaconhills turns 40

My Beaconhills story: Danielle Negri

Former student and current staff member Danielle Negri said she was eternally grateful to her parents for choosing Beaconhills for her education.

“I completed VCE in 2003 at the Pakenham Campus and as it turns out that was not the end of my journey at the school. I later returned in 2008 as a nervous and excited graduate teacher at the Berwick Campus. Fourteen years later I am now based in the Middle School at the Pakenham Campus with two young sons attending Little Beacons.

I loved my time as a student. The opportunities provided to me were countless; from the academic experiences to the Year 9 Program, debating, Duke of Edinburgh Award and of course, the ensembles, Rock Eisteddfods and productions in the Performing Arts faculty which are still some of my fondest memories. These opportunities – and more – brought me my closest friends, for which I am eternally grateful.

I also know attending as a student has had such a profound impact on the type of teacher I want to be. If I can contribute to students even having a fraction of the joy I felt attending school each day, I know I have made a big difference. If I can ensure the students in my care feel as believed in and valued as I felt as a student all those years ago, I know I have done my job.”
