Take that, cancer! What a mammoth effort from Beaconhills College’s 270-strong Beacon of Hope team, who far exceeded their fundraising goal at this year’s Casey Relay for Life on the weekend.

While the final figure is yet to be tallied, the College’s Head of Citizenship and Service, Clare Tuohy, said she was thrilled with the result.

The Beacon of Hope team also earned the Casey Relay for 2018 Team Spirit Award, accepted on behalf of the College by Berwick Campus Vice-captain Nakeesha Vogrig. The College’s Relay for Life parent and student committee did an outstanding job in food preparation and sales – totalling around $4100. Congratulations also to students on their individual fundraising efforts, some in excess of $1000.
