Beaconhills College has marked National Reconciliation Week (27 May-3 June) with activities and events aimed at increasing understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture and history.
The College has hosted an evening with Wurundjeri elder Murrundindi, while Junior School students have taken part in Connecting to Country days, a ‘weapons and tools’ session with Colin Atkinson from Wolithiga Wares and dancing with the Djirri Djirri Dance group.
A free dress day at the Pakenham Campus on Wednesday will raise educational funding for Opening the Doors Foundation, to support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families in Victoria.
