Year 8 student Ava Beck and her team of ‘purple warriors’ will help raise funds for the Epilepsy Foundation in the Walk for Epilepsy, October 1-25.
Ava, who has had focal epilepsy for five years, has 200-strong team including family and friends from Beaconhills College. They are confident they can complete the team goal of 2000km and raising $7000 (they are already second on the fundraising leaderboard).
Mum Lisa said the family was very grateful for the enormous support from friends and family and would love more Beaconhills students or families to join Ava’s Purple Warriors team, or donate.
The 1-25 date for this year’s online walk represents the one in 25 people who live with epilepsy.
