Planting the seeds for new food program

The first seeds are sown for Beaconhills’ exciting new Community Food Program.

With spring on the way, eight Year 10 students were invited to start planting out the garden on Friday. The students are part of a pilot group who will work in the Pakenham Campus garden each week.

While it’s still early days, the Community Food Program will become a major Beaconhills College charity initiative, playing an important role in addressing food insecurity in our region and involving the entire College community. Students will learn to grow, harvest and deliver fresh produce to those in need.
