Pakenham Campus student Terry Prendergast (Year 11) has had his ingenious LEGO sorter selected for Top Designs 2023. Created as his final project for VCE Units 3 and 4 Systems Engineering, Terry’s sorter makes LEGO organisation a breeze by automatically dividing pieces by colour and size using a sensor and stepper motor.

Top Designs showcases a selection of high-scoring VCE projects across nine product, visual, and audio design units, with a panel of teachers elected by the VCE Season of Excellence team at the VCAA viewing and shortlisting applications. Terry’s work will be on display at next year’s exhibition at Melbourne Museum.
