Aussie Bread Tags for Wheelchairs

Beaconhills are taking part in the ‘Aussie Bread Tags for Wheelchairs’ initiative, which is a program that collects bread tags that are recycled locally, to raise funds to buy wheelchairs for disadvantaged people, mainly in South Africa.

It takes 200kg of bread tags to fund a wheelchair and not only is it worth so much to the person on the receiving end of a wheelchair, we are saving the bread tags from going into our oceans and landfill.

Year 3 student Charlie Parsons, from Berwick Campus (pictured) has produced a poster and started collecting. And the lead campaigner at the Pakenham Campus is Aila Szwaja, also in Year 3. Well done Aila and Charlie!

The College will be collecting bread tags at each campus during term 4, further details on where to deliver your donation of tags will be in term 4 newsletters.
