The chance to experience Japanese family and school life was something that 16 senior students from Beaconhills are unlikely to ever forget.
The group just returned from an exchange to Ibaraki Christian High School. As well as improving their Japanese language skills, the students took part in classes, learning about traditional hospitality, paper cutting, flower arrangement and cooking.
There were also visits to Taki Falls and the Toshogu Shrine in Nikko, a ride on the bullet train to Miyajima, a visit to Hiroshima and the famous Peace Park and Peace Memorial Museum and exploration of Kyoto and Tokyo.
Student Charlotte Rue described the exchange as one of the most incredible trips of her life.
