A charity drive by 10-year-old Beaconhills College student Jack Thompson has reaped an incredible 2610 of donated items to help the homeless.

Jack’s ‘Socks n’ Jocks’ drive for charity organisation Clean as Casper saw a deluge of donations from parents and businesses such as Coles in Casey Central, Underworks and Hanes underwear.

Proud mum Michelle said Jack had initiated the idea and the words on his promotional poster – the latter designed by a family friend – were his own.

“I am hoping that by doing this drive I will help people who are less fortunate to get back on their feet,” Jack said.

“I think it is very important for all of us to be good global citizens and this is my way of doing that.”

Now that the fundraising is over, the Thompsons have a mountain of underwear in their lounge-room ready for collection on Monday 6 November by Clean as Casper.
