Beaconhills College players are getting plenty of runs on the board in local and international chess competitions.

While Pakenham Campus Year 9 student Regan C is currently competing for Australia in Sri Lanka’s Commonwealth Chess Championships, other students have performed well in recent SEISA (South Eastern Independent Schools Association) and ACS (Association of Co-educational Schools) events.

At the SEISA Chess Competition last term, Pakenham Campus ranked first and Berwick Campus second, with Regan C winning all his games for Pakenham.

This year’s ACS Chess Tournament was held at St Leonard’s College in East Brighton. A combined team of Berwick and Pakenham students managed a commendable third place against five other schools.
