We are incredibly proud of the fantastic results achieved by our students at the recent Association of Co-educational Schools (ACS) Athletics Carnival.
Beaconhills College finished in 5th place overall after a tough competition, setting four new individual records on the day. Two of those records were set by Year 7 students, with Sienna Sumsion jumping 1.49m in high jump, and Thomas Lambe throwing 12.42m in shot put. Our senior students were not to be outdone, with Year 10 boy Amiru Chandrasena jumping a record 12.59m in triple jump, and Year 11 student Cameron DeBruin racing a blistering 22.49sec in the 200m race.
Cameron went on to be named Overall Male Athlete of the Meet, after he also placed 1st in long jump, triple jump, the 100m sprint and 2nd place in shot put, an outstanding achievement!
Matisse Lazzari also scored in the top 10 athletes, placing 9th Overall with a 1st place in the 200m and 400m races, 2nd in 800m, 4th in 1500m and 5th in discus.
Beyond the individual results, our students conducted themselves with great pride for the College and respect for the other athletes, showing stellar sportsmanship on the day.
