2017 All Schools Track and Field Championships

Three silver and three bronze medals came home with Beaconhills students who competed in the 2017 All Schools Track and Field Championships at Albert Park from 3-5 November.

Amiru Chandrasena, Year 9 Berwick Campus, earned a silver medal in the under 16 long jump and a bronze in the triple jump. He also qualified to represent Victoria in long jump at the All Schools National Championships in Adelaide and the Australian Junior Athletics Championships in Sydney.

Caitlyn McCormick, Year 8 Berwick Campus, threw a personal best of 33.86m to take the silver medal in under 15 discus and won a bronze in shotput.

Pakenham Campus’ Sophie Coughlin (Year 10) won silver in the 2000m under 16 steeplechase, placed fifth in the under 16 pole vault and tenth in the 3000m event, while Pakenham’s Cam Debruin ran fourth in the men’s 200m race.

Rhianna Clemow from the the Pakenham Campus earned bronze in the under 15 200m hurdles, 6th in under 15 90m hurdles, 10th in under 15 400m and 11th in under 15 200m.
