Community Service
Beaconhills encourages participation in various activities that provide service to the community and develop the social conscience of the students.
Supporting a variety of charities and fostering important relationships with government, business and community groups, students at Beaconhills proactively work together to raise awareness and support worthwhile causes.
Each year students across all year levels participate in food drives, blood banks, walkathons, fundraising, gift giving and other initiatives for local, national and international causes.
Following the establishment of the student-led Giving and Serving Committee, Beaconhills has developed important relationships with friendship schools in Bangladesh and East Timor. Over the last 5 years, Beaconhills has raised over $40,000 to construct buildings, develop projects and supply various resources for the operation of the schools.
On Australia Day, 2007, Village Campus student Nicholas B. won the Casey Young Citizen of the Year Award for his outstanding work in raising awareness and funds for our friendship schools.
