Concert for Fire Victims

May 22, 2009

Performing Arts students from Years 7 to 12 at the Beaconhills Valley Campus, Pakenham performed in their first major event for the year - Performing Arts Concert 2009.

It was a fast-paced and professionally presented evening  which enabled the whole range of talented students in Performing Arts to demonstrate their skills – dancers, actors, singers and  musicians performed in a multitude of groups and ensembles, entertaining the audience of parents, friends and staff with their well-rehearsed routines.

Highlights of the night were the Middle School Drama group with their comedy, the VCE dance troupe with their Indian theme dance, the Beaconhills Strings Orchestra with their melodic playing and the Middle School Band. As usual, all Senior groups, including the rock band, improv band, jazz ensemble, guitar group and concert band, were very polished and entertaining.

“The evening proved to be a wonderful showcase of  the flourishing Performing Arts programme at Beaconhills and the over 100 students involved are to be congratulated for their outstanding achievements on the night, as well as the committed Performing Arts staff who had prepared the students so thoroughly.” commented Tracy Galloway, Music Director.

The evening culminated in all the performers singing ‘I am Australian’ with all proceeds for the evening being donated to the Victorian Bushfire Appeal.
