Art Excellence on Display

Over fifteen artworks from Beaconhills College, Valley Campus in Pakenham are being showcased at the AISV (Association of Independent Schools) Exhibition at Shell House in Melbourne.

Currently on exhibition is a survey of artworks created by students of all ages from Independent schools in Victoria. The exhibition showcases the excellence of art works being produced by our students from Preparatory through to VCE.

On Tuesday 23rd June, The Parliamentary Secretary for Education, Mr Steve Herbert, MP, opened the exhibition and commented on the excellence and variety of Art selected, particularly from the Beaconhills College collection, Valley Campus.  He chose the work of student, Kaela Watson’s photo collage as an artwork of outstanding ability and skill.  So much so, that he has invited Kaela, along with students from other schools, to have lunch at Parliament later this year.

The relationship that Beaconhills has with AISV (Association of Independent Schools) began through an exhibition two years ago when teachers, who are also professional practicing artists, held an exhibition of artworks at Shell House, Melbourne.  Mr John Irving, Head of Art, Valley Campus, was included in this exhibition with the exhibiting of two woven wall hangings.  Currently John is completing a similar mural for the Senior School Conference area at the Valley Campus in Pakenham.

The exhibition concludes on the 30th July and is at Shell House, No 1 Spring Street Melbourne.
