Beaconhills Swimming Carnival

February 18, 2009

The warm weather, colour and character all helped to create an extraordinary festival mood as students from Beaconhills College competed in their annual Inter-House Swimming Carnivals over the past two weeks.

Students donned sequins, fancy hats and bright costumes in their House colours to cheer on their House competitors. “The successes of the carnivals are attributed to the excellent effort, enthusiasm and spirit of the students who competed enthusiastically for their House, irrespective of their swimming ability”, said Scott McConchie and Colin Burns, the Heads of Sport. “Students participated in events ranging from the traditional to the novelty such as the Boogie Board race”.

The winning Houses will be announced at next week’s assemblies while individual winners will be selected to compete in the GIS and SIS Interschool sports, being held later this term.
