homestayHomestay

Providing a Homestay for an international student is a rewarding experience for host families.

Homestay not only gives international students the chance to learn about Australia, but is a wonderful opportunity for all host family members to learn more about other cultures and languages. Many international students form lasting friendships with host families and stay in contact with them long after returning to their home country.

All Homestay families selected must live near Beaconhills College or have access to convenient transport. For long-term stays, families will need to provide a single, fully furnished room, three meals a day and laundry facilities.

Families can choose to offer short or long-term Homestay options, from two to four weeks or longer if desired.

Homestay hosts must be Australian citizens and hold a current ‘Working With Children’ card. They are selected and approved by the College’s International Department.

Volunteer host families receive a tax free weekly stipend (payment) for non-reciprocal arrangements.
