Career Highlights
- Sarah completed a Bachelor of Arts, majoring in Psychology, at Deakin University in 2002
- She also completed a Graduate Diploma (Psychology) in 2004 with a thesis entitled ‘Social problem-solving skills among male violent offenders.’
- Sarah first worked as a provisional Psychologist from 2004 to 2006
- She then worked as a Psychologist in the Psychological Wellbeing Unit of the Dept of Justice from 2007 to 2010, including individual counselling of prisoners who were referred to the unit for a variety of mental health issues and facilitation of therapeutic programs.
- She completed her Doctorate of Psychology (Forensic) in 2008 with a thesis entitled ‘Readiness to change a problem behaviour: A conceptual framework.’
- Sarah was nominated for a Justice Award in 2009 for the development of a psychometric database. • She also presented a paper in 2009 on the topic of ‘Effective Treatment of Emotional Dysregulation in Offenders – A Preliminary Analysis of the Real Understanding of Self Help Program’ at the Australian Psychological Society’s Advancing Forensic Psychology conference.
- Sarah is currently a Senior Project Officer with Clinical Services in the Department of Justice responsible for the continuous improvement, implementation and evaluation of all violent offending behaviour programs across Victoria
