Career Highlights
- Attended Beaconhills College from 1987 to 1990 (Years 9-12)
- Won the Dandenong & District Junior Football League’s Best & Fairest Award on three occasions
- Represented Victoria on two occasions at National Junior Carnivals
- Elected Millett House’s first House Captain in 1990
- Won the first Beaconhills College’s Caltex All-Round Achievement award in 1990
- Selected for the Melbourne U19 team in 1990 and played in the finals
- Played in the Melbourne Reserves in 1991 and won the Best & Fairest club award as well as a premiership
- Undertook a Bachelor of Arts in Recreation degree
- Played his first AFL game for Melbourne F.C. in Round 9 against Hawthorn in 1992
- Played 22 senior AFL games with Melbourne F.C. from 1992 to 1993
- Transferred to Richmond F.C. in 1994 and played 4 senior games there
- Retired from AFL football at the end of 1994
- Between 1995 and 1998, Haydn was a senior player at Woodville/West Torrens (SANFL) and Sandringham (VFL) and a senior playing coach at Ringwood (EFL) and Somerville (MPNFL)
- Completed his Arts degree in Recreation & Sport Management in 1996 and a Graduate Certificate in Sports Business Management in 2005
- Appointed manager of the Pakenham Indoor Sports Centre in 1998 until 2002 and then Area Manager from 2002 to 2004
- Currently Group Manager with YMCA Victoria in the South Eastern region
- Continued his football playing career in 1999 with Beaconsfield F.C. (MPNFL), playing in four premierships, coaching for two seasons and kicking over 100 goals on two occasions – selected in the club’s ‘team of the century’
