Headmaster’s Welcome
What are the things that a family considers when they are selecting a school? They want a place where their children can grow and develop in a caring Christian environment, become independent thinkers and thoughtful and caring members of their community. They look for academic diversity and exciting co-curricular activities. Most importantly, they want their children to strive for their own personal level of excellence.
These are the values that underpin Beaconhills College.
While giving students the guidance, drive and encouragement to achieve academically, Beaconhills offers your family the opportunity to be a part of a community that fosters the academic, spiritual and emotional growth of your children.
Over the past three decades, we have matured, both physically and culturally. Late 2008 saw the launch of our third campus, the Little Beacons Learning Centre in Pakenham. The 160-place centre specialises in play-based learning programs for infants to Early Learning.
From Little Beacons, students progress to either our Berwick Campus or Pakenham Campus. Our broad and dynamic curriculum is taught across four sub-schools; Junior, Middle and Year 9, culminating in more than 60 VCE units and 100 VCE classes taught in our Senior School.
Beaconhills is proud to be an independent, open entry, co-educational College offering a very affordable fee structure and diverse curriculum. Parents appreciate the fact our fees include many ‘extras’ such as excursions or outdoor experiences. Our teachers embrace a modern approach toward teaching, recognising that today’s students are the future facing a host of new and unchartered challenges; political, environmental and social.
The Beaconhills College theme for 2012 is ‘Shaping Our Future’, which will be explored in church services, College activities and classroom curriculum. Beaconhills students will shape their own future through the use of cutting-edge technology in the form of iPads, through the College-wide mission to create a lighter environmental footprint, their care and concern for those less fortunate and their own spiritual journey to personal growth and happiness.
I am very proud to be part of the dynamic Christian community that is Beaconhills College. I invite your family to come on the learning journey and let us lead your children to achieve their personal best.
