Junior School buildings ready for 2012

Four new classes of Preparatory students will be the lucky occupants of our magnificent new Junior School development at the Pakenham Campus, now ready to open for the start of Term 1.
The 980 sq m building comprises four modern classrooms, large work areas and bag storage, a ‘central hub’ staff area which overlooks the student areas, resource storage rooms and toilets.
One of its fantastic new features is a very spacious multi-purpose area, which has high ceilings, a drop-down audio-visual projector and four large sitting squares on the carpet matched to House colours.
The building has also been designed in line with the College policy to lighten our environmental footprint, with good use of insulation and double-glazed windows. Similar to the Berwick Campus’ Year 9 Centre, it includes a passive ventilation system controlled by a solar panel which draws air in and out of the building depending on the outside temperature.
This is a wonderful state-of-the-art facility which represents Stage 2 of our three-stage Junior School building program. Stage 3 will essentially be a mirror image of Stage 2, added on in 2013.
I would like to take this opportunity to sincerely thank our local builder Greg Noonan from G&D Noonan and architect Brendon Egan and building designer Renee Dehaan from the 3D Design Group for their work on this project. I am sure this building will be special base for our young Junior School students in 2012.
