Reuse, Recycle, Re-educate
Our youngest College members from Little Beacons learnt the importance of recycling when they recently visited the SITA Recycling plant at Hallam. The children toured the site, witnessed the management of Landfill and learnt about the recycling process.
This excursion was undertaken In support of the College’s ongoing commitment to the environment and was reinforced at the Early Learning Centre when the same group undertook a rubbish audit with Russell from the College’s Maintenance Team.
Russell explained to the enthusiastic group how the College manages our waste. He demonstrated how waste is separated into four groups, organic waste, general recycling, paper and landfill.
Both environmental experiences have prompted many questions from the children and have been pivotal in educating the new generation of environmental warriors!
