Cycling Superstar
We congratulate Courtney F of Year 8 for her outstanding success in cycling events throughout 2011. She has won gold at each of the six national events she has competed in on both road and track.
At the recent Australian Junior Road Cycling Championships in Shepparton, Courtney was the only dual gold medallist, taking the win in both the Road Race and the Criterium.
Not surprisingly, Courtney won Gold when she recently represented Beaconhills in August at the Zone championship held at Casey Fields, Cranbourne. She will go on to represent the College when she competes on Sunday, 16 October in the Victorian School Cycling Championships as part of the Jayco Herald Sun Tour.
From October, Courtney will compete in the Under 17s age group and hopes to maintain her good form in the new age group. No doubt with her dedication and training, she will continue to develop as the best rider in Australia in her age group.
“I suspect we will see much more of this girl on the world arena before long,” said Mrs Clare Tuohy, Head of Middle School Berwick Campus. We wish her all the best.
