Students Encouraged to Work Hard and Reach the Stars.
Dr Jones congratulates an award winner.
Middle School Students at the Village Campus were inspired to take destiny into their own hands following a presentation from guest speaker, Dr Jeremy Jones, at the Academic Assembly on Monday 25 July.
Following Year 12, Dr Jones completed a Science Degree at Melbourne University, before completing a Veterinary Science qualification at Massey University in New Zealand. His career has enabled him to work and travel extensively through New Zealand and Europe and he has returned to Australia to establish a veterinary practice in Berwick.
Delighting the audience with amusing anecdotes and fascinating stories, Dr Jones recalled the critical moment he“realised that the only way of getting good marks, of getting a good Tertiary ranking and getting into a good university course was to do it myself.”
Dr Jones encouraged students to “put your heads down now, get a great career and then travel the world.” He congratulated all award winners and closed his presentation by stating “I’d like to say that the best position in life is the position where you choose what you would like to do and where you would like to do it.”
