Two students from Berwick Campus are making their marks in the sports of baseball and cricket.

Oliver D (Year 7) has caught the eye of talent scouts at this week’s National Little League Baseball Championships held in Queensland.

He has now been chosen to represent Australia in the Under 13 team at the Carl Ripkin World Series, which will be held later this year in Maryland, USA.

Oliver started playing baseball in Hong Kong when he was five years old and continued with the sport when living in Singapore and Thailand. His family moved to Australia in 2007 and Oliver started playing with the Waverley Baseball Club in summer and the Berwick Dodgers in winter.

He has quickly progressed up the ranks of the sport and is noted for his leadership skills and potential to become a professional player.

He currently plays with the Cranbourne Kings ‘superleague’, the highest level of indoor cricket. Tobias also represented Victoria last year in the Victorian Primary Schools Sports Association Under 13 Cricket National Championships.

A leg spin bowler and middle-order batsman, Tobias has his eye on a future place in the U19s Australian Cricket team.
