Wynston Chew, who completed Year 12 at the Berwick Campus last year, has earned a prestigious Premier’s Award for his work in Systems Engineering.
Wynston joined top students from around the state to receive their awards at a presentation ceremony held on Monday at the Melbourne Convention Centre.
The awards recognise the State’s top students who have completed their studies with particular distinction. Wynston scored a perfect 50 in Systems Engineering and designed a self-balancing robot which represented many hours of work.
His teacher, Mr Peter Lewis, says, “Wynston spent countless hours designing and testing the robot during and after school, but still found time to help and inspire other students. He was – and still is – a gifted student and I am sure he will be extremely successful in his future chosen career.”
This achievement is also a great measure of the success of our Technology programs, with a number of students across both campuses now having the distinction of receiving Premier’s and Top Design awards in Systems Engineering.
This is a great honour for a most deserving recipient. Congratulations Wynston.
