‘Lightning’ girls scorch the competition

There was jubilation at Berwick Campus this week as the ‘Beaconhills Lighting’ netball team returned as winners of the St Margaret’s Interschool Netball Challenge.

The team, made up of Year 6 students and one Year 5 student, beat 19 other State and independent schools from the region. The Grand Final game score was 11 to 1.

Delighted coach Jodie Bradford says the team was selected at the start of the year, but it was the first time the girls had played together in competition.

“They are all very good players in their own right, but they really pulled together very well as a team,” she says.
