Middle School Easter Assembly, Berwick Campus.

This week the College has held a series of services during assemblies where students have explored the Easter story through drama, song and film.

For some students, the powerful message of the true meaning of Easter has probably been somewhat of a revelation.

While Christmas is the time to celebrate Christ’s birth, Easter is a time where we honour and recognise his resurrection from the dead and his promise of eternal life for those who believe in Him.

Our Easter services reminded us that the crucifixion, the burial and the resurrection showed Jesus’ victory over death and – as told in Matthew – it gives us reason to find freedom and confidence in Jesus.

This week our College chaplains have encouraged students to appreciate, reflect upon and enjoy the very important story of Easter in our services.

VCE students at Berwick Campus enacted the Last Supper and Jesus washing the disciples’ feet and Kelly J, Year 7, read a diary excerpt about Jesus she had prepared in Religious Education classes. The Bel Canto choir sang and Year 9 students enjoyed a performance by the Christian rock group ‘Simeon’ on Monday.

At Pakenham Campus, teachers Amara Jensen and Deana Moore performed a beautiful duo from Godspell and there were some excellent student performances, including a re-enactment of a scene from the trials of Jesus by senior drama students.

I wish all the College community a peaceful and safe end of term and Easter holiday.

John 3:16 “For God so loved the world that He gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.”
