Waterskier sets national record
Jack in action
At 10 years old, Jack C is already setting national records in his sport of waterskiing.
Jack (Year 5, Pakenham Campus) broke the Victorian record in his division in January and has now just achieved the National record in the Under 10 Boys’ slalom of 4.00 at 14.25m (meaning four turns on a 14.25m line).
Having placed third in the National competition last year in Perth, Jack is keen to tackle this year’s Nationals held in Townsville at the end of April.
Jack comes from a family of waterskiing enthusiasts who spend every spare moment on the water, in Mildura during holidays and at Moe on Wednesday nights after school for training. Jack’s younger brother, Bailey, also skis competitively.
Waterskiing is not the only sport Jack excels at – he also plays rugby for Endeavour Hills and holds a black belt in karate.
A new student to Beaconhills, Jack has already earned the College’s 2011 Athletics Carnival Under 11 Boys Champion title and enjoys competing in swimming.
He will travel to Townsville on April 28 to compete in the Nationals.
