Students from Beaconhills College recently participated in Bicycle Victoria’s 2010 Great Victorian Bike Ride.

Fifty-six schools competed in the ride, which started in Yarrawonga and ended in Marysville.

Bicycle Victoria staff and the WARBY (We Are Right Behind You) bicycle maintenance team gave out two awards to students on the ride.

One Berwick Campus student, Erin C, received a $300 Rebel Sport Voucher for safe cycling, supporting and helping others on the ride.

Pakenham Campus Physical Education Teacher Carla Virgona said the students found the ride rewarding and enjoyable.

“We had many positive comments from Bicycle Victoria staff, police on the ride, general public and other schools about how well-behaved and responsible our students were,” Ms Virgona said.

“The students achieved so much out of this fantastic experience.”
