Students at Little Beacons Learning Centre have embraced the true spirit of Christmas by gathering donations of tinned food for a local charity group.

The students have collected hundreds of cans, which will go to 4Cs (Cardinia Combined Churches Caring) Food Bank.

The 4Cs is a voluntary, non-profit organisation that provides food relief and other services to needy, disadvantaged, homeless and those in crisis in the Shire of Cardinia.

Head of Little Beacons Learning Centre, Vicki Reid, said it was important that students understood that Christmas was about giving – and appreciated how fortunate they were.

“We try to teach our students about the concept of giving to others, thinking about others at this time and how we can all support others,” Ms Reid said.
