Our New Ordained Priest
The Rev. Kruse at her ordination (Archbishop Freier in background)
Our heartfelt congratulations go to The Reverend Peggy Kruse, who was officially ordained as a priest in the Anglican Church on Saturday, 27th November at Melbourne’s St Paul’s Cathedral.
Archbishop Philip Freier led the service, where The Rev. Kruse was among six men and five women undergoing ordination.
As a priest, The Rev. Kruse is now able to baptise, be solely responsible for Holy Communion, pronounce the Absolution (statement of God’s forgiveness after confession) and give the blessing – along with her existing ministerial responsibilities.
The process of becoming a Deacon and then a Priest has represented many months of dedication and hard work, including psychological tests, a reading course, training days and silent retreats.
Since she joined us eight years ago, The Rev Kruse’s warm and caring approach to her chaplaincy role has endeared her to the entire Beaconhills College community.
She is also highly qualified for her work, with a Bachelor of Theology, Diploma of Ministry and Graduate Diploma of Education. We are delighted she has earned this latest honour.
