basketball1Pakenham Campus basketballers are preparing for battle against Australia’s best young basketballers when they head to Bendigo for the Australian School Championships, held from 6th to 10th December.

The College has been a regular competitor at the event for the past 10 years, but this is the first year we have had such a strong junior contingent.

Valley Campus Head of Sport, Colin Burns, said this year there are three teams  – two girls’ and one boys’ team – competing in the junior section.

“We have had a good number of junior players this year – all prepared to work hard,” Mr Burns said.

He said many students played sport outside school hours, but they were still keen to train two or three times a week for the College team.

The players proudly displayed their new College basketball uniforms this week (pictured), which will be interchanged annually between College teams reaching national competition.

The teams are supported by College sponsors Rowlands Catering, Berwick Bus Lines and Viatek.
